ASUM in conjunction with the Early Pregnancy & Gynaecological Scanning Foundation Theoretical Courses

The team at OMNI is dedicated to ongoing medical education. We have set up the “Early Pregnancy & Gynaecological Scanning Foundation” which is a charitable organization dedicated to teaching and clinical research. In conjunction with the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM), the “Early Pregnancy & Gynaecological Scanning Foundation” will run Theoretical Courses in 2008.

1. Why perform an ultrasound in the first trimester?


2. Miscarriage; diagnosis and management. Is there a role for 3D/4D ultrasound of the uterous?


3. Tubal ectopic pregnancy; diagnosis and management


4. Non-tubal ectopic pregnancy; diagnosis and management


5. Pregnancies of unknown location; what does it mean and what do we do?


6. Gestational trophoblastic disease; how good is ultrasound in the diagnosis?


7. Ovarian cysts in early pregnancy; do we really need to see the ovaries in the first trimester?


8. Acute pelvic pain; how important is ultrasound in such women?


9. Chronic pelvic pain; what information does ultrasound provide?


10. Ovarian pathology; can ultrasound be the basis of triaging adnexal pathology?


11. Abnormal uterine bleeding; what role does ultrasound & sonohysterography play?


12. Post menopausal bleeding; what do we really need to know?


13. How do we perform HyCoSy and is it a useful diagnostic tool in the work-up of women with fertility?
