Channel 7 - Breakthrough test to predict miscarriage

Channel 7 National News featured this test to predict miscarriage. Data from more than 400 women at Nepean Hospital was used to develop a new model to predict miscarriage. In this study, the rate of miscarriage in women who had had a viable pregnancy confirmed on early first trimester ultrasound was subsequently 7%. This rate of miscarriage is lower than the overall first trimester miscarriage rate, which is quoted to be as high as 20 - 25% of clinical pregnancies.
